Wendy Gouldingay – Principal and director
Wendy qualified in 1985 and has over 30 years’ experience in Family law and related matters. A former Partner in a Nottingham City centre firm, she set up Gouldingays in 2010, a niche Family Law practice, with the objective of providing a dedicated and specialised service to parties facing relationship breakdown.
Wendy qualified as a Mediator in 1998 and was accredited by the LSC ( Legal Services Commission) in 2001. She is a member of FMA (Family Mediation Association) and an accredited member of the Family Mediation Council. She sits on the Nottinghamshire Law Society Council as a representative for sole practitioners and Resolution (The Solicitors Family Law Association) and is also Co-chair of Resolution East Midlands/Nottinghamshire.
Passionate about the way Family law interacts with social policy, she is committed to offering both Court and non-Court based solutions within Family law for parties facing relationship breakdown. The ethos of the practice is to support people through the maze of options open to them and guide them through the uncertainties associated with relationship breakdown.
Wendy is married with two grown up children in their early twenties.
Maria Brown – PA
PA to Wendy for over 10 years and key to the establishment and development of the practice, Maria has 15 years’ experience overall in family law and mediation.
Supportive, accommodating and an excellent communicator, Maria puts people quickly at their ease and understands the pressures associated with both the legal process and mediation.
Maria is married with two grown up children in their twenties and in her spare time enjoys reading, dog walking, playing golf and going to the gym.
Abigail Gordon – Trainee solicitor
Abi has a degree in Criminology as well as a Graduate Diploma in Law. She fulfilled the Legal Practice Course at Nottingham Law School in 2013 and joined Gouldingays the same year, before commencing her training contract in 2014. She hopes shortly to qualify. She is an active member of YRes (Young Resolution) and the Junior Lawyers Division of Nottingham.
A keen member of a local running club and a regular participator in 5k events, Abi enjoys yoga, cooking, socialising and walking weekends away with her partner and their dog.
