Wendy Gouldingay on BBC Radio Nottingham

In raising awareness of the lack of basic rights for couples who are living together for Cohabitation Awareness Week, I was invited to speak about the issues and take questions from listeners on BBC Radio Nottingham.

First of all, I spoke to presenter Mark Dennison and I explained what rights cohabiting couples do and don’t have and explained how the outdated system currently leaves these people vulnerable.

Over the following half hour, I took calls from listeners who voiced their concerns and their questions about cohabitation. I was then able to feed these comments back to Mark on air and summarise the issues that were raised:
