Caring for your needs in a relationship breakdown

About Us

Family mediation council accredited mediator

Gouldingays Family Law and Mediation is a niche Family Law and Mediation practice in Newark, Nottinghamshire

Relationship breakdown affects us all at one time or another in our lives – whether it is first love, cohabitee/co-owner, husband or wife or civil partner or even break-ups with other family members; siblings, parents or grandparents.

The consequences of relationship breakdown send ripples throughout family and friends and how it is handled can have a material effect upon the individual’s long term future and ability to cope.

Fear of the consequences of relationship breakdown and lack of knowledge about outcomes can sometimes make us behave in a bizarre and unpredictable fashion.

Knowledge is power in some situations. Weighing the options before taking a decision that is suited to your own circumstances is essential.

If you would like to increase your knowledge and understanding about the consequences of relationship breakdown in matters of divorce, division of the assets following divorce and child focused contact and residence disputes contact Wendy Gouldingay for an initial meeting.  The first half hour will be free of charge and we will encourage you to see the benefit of non Court based remedies such as Mediation as well as court based solutions.

If you are worried about the expense, delay and hostility sometimes prompted by Court proceedings, Mediation may prove a better option; it is immediate, cheaper and a far more dignified process for achieving agreements and a fair outcome.

You have nothing to lose by increasing your knowledge and learning about your choices.

COVID-19 update

Thank you for bearing with us during this Covid-19 crisis.

We're still working, albeit remotely and at a reduced capacity.

Court hearings are still taking place via BT Meet Me, telephone conferencing facilities or Skype for Business, although more advanced discussion and preparation for hearings is necessary for hearings to prove successful. We will call you in advance of any hearings to talk you through the process, and and how it works.

We're accessing all of our mail and telephone calls as usual, so please be assured that we will continue to manage your case with the care and consideration it deserves.

Face-to-face mediation is suspended at this time, although we will continue to take referrals for Mediation Information & Assessment Meetings (MIAMs) until the crisis has passed.

Thank you for bearing with us during this time.

Stay safe and well,
The Gouldingays Team
